Jorginho has revealed to Chelsea fans he is under strict tactical instructions from Maurizio Sarri to stay in position.

The Italian midfielder has faced criticism from Chelsea supporters in his first season at the club after failing to register a single assist so far and just two goals.

Sarri has a huge amount of trust in Jorginho and pushed for the signing of 27-year-old from his former club Napoli.

Chelsea travel to Manchester United on Sunday and Jorginho took the opportunity to remind Chelsea fans he is told not to push forward from midfield.

‘The game in Italy is more tactical, here [in England it] is more physical,’ Jorginho told Sky Italia.

‘My duty? I need to help the team to overcome the pressing of the opponents. I am not urged to dribble [past] two or three men and score, I need to manage the different dynamics of the game.’

A victory at Old Trafford will strengthen Chelsea’s grip on fourth spot, but United are desperate to keep their top four hopes alive with a win.

United are in the midst of a woeful run of form, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suffered seven defeats in nine games, but Jorginho insisted Chelsea could not afford to sit back.

‘We need to create as many goalscoring chances as possible,’ the Italy International said.

‘That’s the only way we can score. We’ll need our strikers for the next three finals that we are due to play.

‘It’s going to be a tough game at the Old Trafford, but we will be ready, we need a win to end up fourth [in the table].’
